About Life Change Retreats
Life Changes Retreats are not ‘spiritual’, the focus is not on yoga, meditation, mindfulness, although there is plenty of time for that. The focus is on ‘you’ and ‘your values’ and ‘your purpose’. Life Changes Retreats include Life Change Workshops, coaching sessions, and an introduction to hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis.
What do you truly want out of life? It took me decades to find my passion!
Let’s speed up the process for you.
Our Retreats are for people who want to change something about their life!
Do you want to take some time out to rethink your life? Perhaps, you are feeling stuck, or have lost direction, or maybe contemplating a career change. It could simply be that you know you are in a rut, but you have no idea what to do or even if you really need to make a change in your life!
On the other hand… You may just want to travel but have no one to enjoy the new experiences with. Our retreats are for women, men or everyone. You choose! You can share a room with your friend, (or we can find a new friend for you) or you can choose to have a room to yourself. We don’t mind. Just pack your smile, your sense of humour, a little patience, and we will supply the rest.
Life Change Retreats is all about YOU.
Your Facilitators
Let us introduce ourselves…
Joslyn Gardiner
Joslyn calls herself a tri-nationalist – a New Zealand born South African, Australian. But more seriously she is a Hypnotherapist, a Success Coach, a Workshop and Retreat Facilitator and a Travel Guide.
15 years ago, Joslyn ran a Bookkeeping business. A ‘Life Change’ saw her study personal development and move into Life coaching, hypnosis and business mentoring. Finally discovering her true passion, Joslyn and Steve launched Life Changes Retreats & Journeys, which offers Life Changing Retreats and Inspiring Experiences in exotic locations across the globe.
It goes without saying, Joslyn loves to travel. Her favourite purchase is an airline ticket! Shopping is a ‘chore’, unless Joslyn is in a market in an exotic country. So, what would be her perfect job…. Travelling! Thinking, planning, going … Anywhere!
If you want to ‘bring tears’ to Joslyn’s eyes, just succeed at something. Nothing brings more joy and emotion to her than seeing people succeed and achieve a goal.
The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams – Oprah Winfrey
On a daily, more normal level, Joslyn loves massages, facials (any sort of pampering really), sunsets, African wild life safaris, meditating, a glass of Red wine, RooiBos tea, wine gums and dried fruit!
Strangely, she doesn’t like chocolate very much!! Which is a bit weird but good for you, as you can be sure she will never fight you for the last piece!
One of Joslyn’s passions is to ‘give back’ and a big part of the Life Change Vision is participating in the “Pack for a Purpose” initiative that allows their guests to make a lasting impact in the community at their travel destination.
Joslyn is extremely passionate about supporting women (and men) to find their Purpose, to step up and acknowledge their power and celebrity and, especially, to Live Their Life On Purpose!!
Joslyn loves planning and preparing exciting new and inspiring adventures and, she “can’t wait to meet you, so you can have fun, share meals and, a couple of drinks, whilst enjoying a exciting adventure together”.
Steve Gardiner
Steve Gardiner was born in Zimbabwe and has led a varied and interesting life. From a young child he travelled extensively with his parents in Africa and Europe. He attended University in South Africa and UK studying Agronomy (he is an Agricultural Scientist) He was a soldier – on active service for 4 years, before moving to Solomon Islands as part of an Foreign Aid project, teaching local farms how to grow and profit from agriculture. There Steve found his passion in teaching. Fast forward a couple of decades, and a few countries, Steve now lives in Brisbane Australia and teaches life skills as a life coach, specialising in hypnotherapy.
For the last 15 years Steve and his wife Joslyn have been helping people to achieve a life that they want with a combination of coaching and hypnosis, a mix that has changed the lives of many people.
Believe in yourself. Your Mind is a Powerful Force. When you can See it, and you believe it, only then will you achieve it!
Steve’s top values in life are travel and teaching and helping people. Life Change Retreats fulfils these values in that it enables Steve to fulfil his love of travel and to be able to teach and help people to lead a life that they want.
“Travel and helping people is a passion for me,” Steve says and if you want to have fun, learn a few ‘mind hacks’ and learn how to live your life passionately then Life Change Retreats is a place to do that.
Giving Back
Travel broadens One’s Mind. With travel comes understanding, respect and a huge responsibility. Travel also heightens our awareness of the differences between people, cultures, religions, and circumstances. In Australia, we are very fortunate to live a privileged, with some exceptions, lifestyle. But not everyone is so lucky.
To Move Forward You Have to Give Back – Oprah Winfrey
Steve and I have had the privilege to visit many countries throughout the world, and we have lived in several of these. We have seen the wealth in developed countries. We have seen the poverty in countries newly independent or resource poor. Poverty is often the by-product of war, of famine, and unfortunately corruption. But poverty is also a by-product of limited or no education.
So, while we travel, whether it is for a Life Change Retreat or on an Life Changing Journey we believe in ‘giving’ to the communities we visit. Just small stuff to say ‘thanks’ for sharing your lives with us. Life Change Retreats will, wherever possible, employ local businesses to manage our logistics. We want to ensure our fun, enjoyment and personal growth allows for the growth of the communities we visit.
We are proud members of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travellers like you, to make a lasting impact in the community at your travel destination. If you save just a few kilos of space in your suitcase and take supplies for the projects we support in need, you’ll make a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families.
